GLBT Advocacy
Equality NC is a statewide group dedicated to securing equal rights and justice for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people. We work toward that goal by effectively lobbying the North Carolina General Assembly, executive branch, and local governments on issues like inclusive anti-bullying policies, employment discrimination, hate violence, privacy rights, sexuality education, adoption, domestic partnership, HIV/AIDS, and more. We also work to engage North Carolinians with educational programming and outreach efforts.

The Adam Foundation (Winston-Salem)
The Adam Foundation promotes the identity, strength, and well-being of the local gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community and supports organizations serving persons living with HIV and AIDS.
Guilford Green Foundation (Greensboro)
To Promote diversity and inclusiveness throughout the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community and the greater Piedmont community by raising and distributing funds for LGBT organizations and programs and growing an endowment to sustain funding for these purposes
Performing Arts
TPMC’s mission is to perform choral music to entertain, enlighten, and enrich the community while promoting equality and social justice for all people regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity–fostering pride, understanding and acceptance. TPMC’s music helps promote a positive and talented face on the GLBT community and through song presents our common struggle to a widening audience.

Triad Business & Professional Guild
The Triad Business and Professional Guild promotes networking, professional development, personal enrichment, and social opportunities for gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgender, and our allies in the Piedmont Triad. Our membership is diverse, representing all ages and encompassing scores of occupations. This organization was formed to fill a need for people to express pride in who they are and what they do.
North Carolina Gay Advocacy Legal Alliance
Through its members and activities, the organization provides visibility, support, and advocacy for the LGBT communities. We are a voluntary state-wide non-profit, and non-partisan attorneys’ organization.
University Organizations
Wake Forest University Gay-Straight Student Alliance
The Gay-Straight Student Alliance has two main purposes on the Wake Forest campus. First, it strives to promote understanding of queer issues and acceptance of the queer community through campus and community activities. Second, it exists to create a supportive atmosphere on campus for members of the queer community. Queer issues and the queer community include but are not limited to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, queer-identifying, questioning, and allied issues and individuals.
The purpose of Guilford pride is to provide a friendly, supportive environment to assist queer students and allies in personal growth. We hope to educate the Guilford community on issues important to Queer students and allies. We address social and political issues that will confront Queer students and allies.
PRIDE! strives to be a resourceful organization, to promote awareness of GLBTIQA issues and to establish an open social network for our members. We also strive to educate the UNCG community on issues faced by GLBTIQA persons and to help create a more safe and welcoming campus for all.
Spectrum is a support group of students committed to increasing visibility and bettering the lives of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer people at Elon and beyond.
Support Groups
Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) promotes the health and well- being of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) persons through support to cope with an adverse society, education for an ill-informed public, and advocacy to end discrimination.
Our chapter of PFLAG provides support for parents who have just learned that their child is gay, and for the GLBTQ persons who want desperately to have their parents and family understand. We provide educational materials to enable families to understand each other, and we advocate for civil rights and against harassment and bullying.
Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered persons, their families and friends through: support, to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and secure equal civil rights. PFLAG provides an opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity.
GSAFE is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment for students in the city of Greensboro, North Carolina especially concerning issues of sexual orientation and gender identity.

With a strong and robust presence online at goqnotes.com, and a free print circulation of approximately 10,000 distributed every other week, we are the largest and most trusted source of news, politics, opinion, entertainment, art, lifestyle, community events and more for LGBT North Carolinians and South Carolinians.
AIDS Service Organizations
Triad Health Project provides emotional and practical support to individuals living with HIV/AIDS, to their loved ones, and to those at risk for HIV/AIDS; implements strategies to educate those at risk and the community about HIV/AIDS; and advocates locally, regionally, and nationally for individuals and groups infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
The mission of AIDS Care Service is to empower and serve our brothers and sisters living with HIV/AIDS and to educate our community in the struggle against the disease. AIDS Care Service, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the needs of those living with HIV/AIDS in and around Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina.
